Giorgio Pradelli, chief executive of Switzerland-based private bank EFG International, has been unanimously elected chairman of the Swiss Bankers Association (SBA) by the association's board of directors, with his term set to begin at Swiss Bankers Day on 17 September 2026.

Hubbis reported that the SBA's board of directors unanimously elected Pradelli at an extraordinary meeting on 11 May 2026, with the official handover of office to take place during Bankers Day on 17 September 2026.

Pradelli will succeed Marcel Rohner and will continue in his role as CEO of EFG International, stepping down from other industry mandates in connection with the appointment.

In connection with the appointment, Pradelli will step down from the chairmanship of the Association of Swiss Asset and Wealth Management Banks (VAV), the SBA's Private Banking Steering Committee, and the board of Fondation Genève Place Financière, while remaining on the board of the Swiss-American Chamber of Commerce.

Pradelli has been CEO of EFG International since 2018 and brings more than 35 years of experience in global wealth and asset management to the role.
