Remembering the excellence of Ireland’s association and institute community, the Freight Transport Association Ireland (FTA Ireland) was honoured with the Best Publication Award earlier this year at the Association & Institute Awards 2025 for its pioneering report Decarbonising Road Freight Sector Ireland.

As the first dedicated freight decarbonisation report in the country, it offers essential insights for commercial fleet operators navigating the transition to alternative fuels.

This forward-thinking publication addresses sector challenges head-on, presenting practical, data-driven pathways aimed at fostering collaboration and empowering informed decision-making. In a time when sustainable transport strategies are more important than ever, FTA Ireland’s work stands out as a landmark contribution to Ireland’s climate progress.

“This entrant delivered a timely, expertly crafted contribution that addressed a critical gap in Ireland’s climate discourse. The Association was commended for its clarity, ambition, and depth, offering actionable insights and robust data tailored to the freight sector,” the judging panel noted.

“With a strong environmental impact focus and contributions from across the industry, it was regarded as a vital tool for influencing policy, supporting collaboration, and advancing sustainable transport solutions,” they added. 

The recognition highlights the Association’s commitment to evidence-based advocacy, environmental leadership, and meaningful sector engagement. Their publication sets a strong benchmark for research excellence and industry-aligned innovation.
