The Ladies Gaelic Football Association (LGFA) has confirmed Lyn Savage as its incoming Chief Executive Officer, succeeding Helen O’Rourke after her 28 years of service. Savage will officially assume the role on 9 March 2026.

Savage has served the LGFA as National Development Manager and previously as National Development Officer. She also held the position of Games Promotion Officer with Dublin GAA and played for her home county, Louth, for 15 years. She is a 1998 All-Ireland Junior and 1999 All-Ireland Intermediate medallist with Cooley Kickhams, with strong family ties to St Patrick’s club.

Trina Murray, LGFA President, commented on the appointment: “Lyn brings a wealth of experience, deep knowledge of our game, and a long-standing commitment to the development of women’s sport. Throughout her career, she has demonstrated exceptional leadership, strategic insight, and a genuine dedication to supporting players, volunteers, staff, and communities across the country and in our International units. We are confident she will continue to strengthen the foundations of the LGFA and guide the organisation into its next chapter.”

The announcement acknowledges O’Rourke’s long-standing contribution to the association. Murray added, “As we welcome Lyn, we also honour Helen O'Rourke's 28 years of service. Her leadership has built the strong, committed, and united team that will carry the organisation forward, providing a solid foundation for this next phase.”

The LGFA under Savage will continue its work to grow women’s sport, strengthen organisational governance, and maintain a structured pathway for player and staff development.
