The National Geographic Society has formed a strategic partnership with EPAM, designating the company as its preferred digital transformation partner.

According to National Geographic, the collaboration aims to modernise the Society’s infrastructure while enhancing its global educational and conservation initiatives.

A cornerstone of the partnership is the launch of EPAM-powered interactive ecosystems this summer at the National Geographic Museum of Exploration. By merging immersive technology with the Society’s storytelling expertise, the project seeks to inspire curiosity and foster a new generation of explorers and solution-seekers.

Jason Southern, chief technology & information officer at the National Geographic Society, said: “By creating powerful narratives using dramatic imagery and immersive experiences, technology allows us to bring stunning visuals to a global audience in ways we never thought possible.”

Southern added: “With EPAM as our partner, we are cultivating empathy and inspiring curiosity in the Explorers of today and tomorrow, ensuring that our mission to protect the planet resonates deeper than ever before, and we are proud to be partnering with a company that shares our vision to achieve this goal.”

The partnership leverages EPAM’s global network of strategists, technologists, designers, data scientists, and creatives to deliver AI-native experiences that combine digital and physical content.

Elaina Shekhter, SVP, chief marketing & strategy officer at EPAM, added: “Through our multiyear collaboration, we’re furthering the Society’s legacy by bridging physical and digital content to illuminate the wonder of our world and strengthen how audiences connect with nature.”

By integrating technology with conservation and education, the partnership allows the Society to scale its scientific and educational impact, reaching wider audiences and creating measurable engagement across multiple platforms.

This collaboration demonstrates how association-led initiatives can harness digital innovation to achieve strategic growth and societal impact.
