In review of the leaders who shaped 2025, Susan Treacy, CEO of the trade association representing Ireland’s health technology manufacturers, developers, and distributors, has been named CEO of the Year at the Association & Institute Awards 2025.

The accolade recognises her exceptional leadership, strategic vision, and transformative impact on the sector.

Under Treacy’s guidance, the organisation achieved unprecedented industry-public sector collaboration, most notably delivering a landmark Memorandum of Understanding with the HSE, fostering innovation, efficiency, and stronger healthcare outcomes.

Her approach combines bold vision with practical execution, guiding a small but highly effective team through complex organisational change and post-pandemic challenges.

With over 25 years of experience in healthcare nationally and internationally, Treacy brings deep expertise in digital health, sustainability, procurement, and innovation. Under her leadership, HealthTech Ireland has achieved key milestones, including Ireland’s first joint public–private Centre of Excellence for sustainable procurement pathways.

She is an active voice in policy development and international medtech councils, a contributor to national discussions on healthcare innovation, and a mentor advocating for equity in health innovation and women in STEM.

The judging panel praised Treacy for her visionary leadership, highlighting her ability to inject energy, innovation, and a forward-thinking mindset into HealthTech Ireland.

“Her strategic direction and relentless drive have delivered real, lasting impact, demonstrating an unwavering commitment to advancing Ireland’s healthcare sector,” the judges noted.
