The Global Technology Industry Association (GTIA), a US-based membership organisation headquartered in Illinois, has announced $1.91 million (€1.76 million) in total charitable giving for 2025. The investment supports 45 nonprofit organisations worldwide and reflects the association's commitment to advancing access, equity, education, workforce development, and technology-driven innovation.
The AI Journal reported that the philanthropic milestone was made possible through the collective engagement and leadership of GTIA's global member community.
Through an expanded philanthropic portfolio, GTIA directed funding and resources to organisations creating measurable social impact across education, healthcare, workforce readiness, and community development. The 2025 total reflects a combination of strategic grantmaking, community-based initiatives, and hands-on volunteer efforts coordinated through GTIA's global programmes and events.
Kelly Ricker, chief operating officer of GTIA, said: "In 2025, our members helped us take decisive steps to scale our impact—investing in organizations that use technology to expand opportunities, promote equity and create lasting change. Every advancement we make in our giving programs is driven by the commitment and shared purpose of our member community."
In 2025, GTIA launched an enhanced philanthropic framework including member-directed giving, host-city support creating lasting community impact where GTIA events take place, and a new grantmaking initiative inviting nonprofits worldwide to scale tech-enabled solutions.
Notable 2025 grant recipients include the Roger Federer Charitable Fund – Africa ($200,000/€184,000), TechPoint Youth in Indianapolis ($200,000/€184,000), and Tech She Can in London ($200,000/€184,000). GTIA also coordinated volunteer efforts at global events, including assembling 35 electric guitars for Instruments for Education at ChannelCon Nashville.
The association plans to continue expanding philanthropic investments in 2026, strengthening global partnerships and scaling initiatives that leverage technology to create economic opportunity and social good.
